Quick Chai Pastries

  • 1 Can Pillsbury Simply Buttermilk Biscuits (or other brand of refrigerated biscuits)
  • 1 (8 oz.) Bar Fat-Free Cream Cheese, softened
  • 2 Packets of Oregon Chai- Chai Tea Latte Concentrate (can also use filling from Chai tea bags plus brown sugar to taste)
  • 1/2 TBSP Butter, melted
  • Sprinkle of Cinnamon Sugar
  • Sprinkle of Ground Cloves
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Separate the biscuits on a baking sheet lined with a Silpat or parchment paper. Flatten each biscuit using your hands until they are all about 4-inches in diameter.

In a small mixing bowl combine the cream cheese and Chai mix using a handheld mixer until smooth. Spoon about a tablespoon worth of the cream cheese mixture onto the center of each biscuit.

Use your hands to close the edges of the biscuit by folding one side to the other, creating a semi-circle.

Now, take a fork and press the edges closed, we don't want any of that filling escaping!

Bake in the preheated oven for 12 minutes. Then remove and use a pastry brush to apply a small amount of melted butter to the top of each pastry. Follow with a sprinkling of cinnamon sugar and ground cloves. Return to the oven to bake for about 3 more minutes.

Allow them to cool at least 5-10 minutes before enjoying otherwise you will burn the you-know-what out of your mouth.
