- 1 (29 oz) can Tomato Sauce
- 2 TBSP Garlic, minced
- 1/2 Onion, finely chopped
- 1 TBSP Olive Oil
- 1 (14.5 oz) Can Diced Tomatoes
- 1/2 TBSP Dried Oregano
- 2 TBSP Fresh Basil, chopped
- 1/8 tsp Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
- Pinch of Cinnamon
- 1 tsp Sugar
In a medium-sized pot or saucepan saute the onion and garlic in 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat until the onions are translucent.
Increase the heat to medium-high and add the diced tomatoes. Allow the mixture to boil, stirring occasionally until most of the liquid has cooked out.
Reduce heat to low and add the tomato sauce and all of the remaining ingredients. Stir well to combine, then cover and allow to simmer for 1-4 hours.
