Crispy Baked Fries

  • 4 Med. Russet Potatoes, peeling optional--I leave the skin on because I'm lazy
  • 1 C Cold Water, or as needed
  • 1/2 C Whole Wheat Flour
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Onion Salt
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 1 tsp Sea Salt

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees and line a baking sheet (I actually needed 2) with aluminum foil; spray the foil with non-stick spray.

Using a mandolin or sharp kitchen knife, slice your potatoes as desired (i.e.,wedges, shoestrings, rounds, etc). Place the fries in a bowl with a cup of cold water to prevent browning while you prepare the seasoning.

Combine all of the spices in a small, shallow bowl. A few at a time, dredge the fries in the mixture until they are completely coated. Lay flat in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat until all the fries are coated.

Bake in the preheated oven for 30-60 minutes, depending on the thickness of your fries (thicker will need more time). Occasionally turn the fries so they cook evenly.

Serve along side your favorite entrĂ©e! This was a perfect weeknight side to my throwback Chicken nuggets.
