Not Your Momma's Lemonade

  • 7 C Water, divided
  • 1 C White Sugar
  • 3/4 C Lemon Juice, freshly squeezed is preferred
  • Lemon and Strawberry Slices and Blueberries and Raspberries
First, create a simple syrup by combining 1 cup of water and 1 cup of sugar in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil and stir just until the sugar is dissolved. Pour the solution into your pitcher. Add the freshly squeezed lemon juice (straining to catch pulp and seeds) and remaining 6 cups of water to the pitcher and stir to combine.

Taste at this point to make sure that the balance of tart and sweet is to your liking. To make it sweeter add sugar (no more than a teaspoon at a time), and to increase the lemony tartness, gradually add more lemon juice until you've reached your desired balance.

Add a handful of raspberries, blueberries, strawberry slices and lemon slices to the lemonade. Their flavors will slowly add to the flavor of the lemonade, not to mention, they look pretty!
